Ray is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS), and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Ray received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in business finance from Washington State University (WSU). While at WSU, Ray competed in track and field including lettering all four years as a decathlete where he also sustained multiple injuries that required rehabilitation.
Ray then went on to earn his DPT from the University of Southern California (USC) where he spent multiple clinical rotations working with athletes at all levels ranging from high school to professional. Ray also spent time assisting with research at USC and working with biomechanists at the Los Angeles Jordan Flight Lab conducting diagnostic and performance testing.
After attending USC, Ray completed a one-year sports physical therapy residency in Fort Worth, Texas through Texas Health where he was one of few primary physical therapists for Texas Christian University (TCU) being one of two physical therapists on staff for the 2023 College Football Playoff Runner-Up Horned Frogs. Ray spent 12 months working directly with collegiate athletes, coaches, and sports-medicine/performance staff in the training room and on-field setting.
Ray was originally born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but was raised in the Kansas City area where he still holds his sports fandom roots. In his free time, he and his wife enjoy backpacking, hosting guests, watching and playing all sports, and lifting.
